Scam Alert: Bomb Threat Email

All over the US, healthcare entities are receiving an email threatening to detonate a bomb unless money is paid.  While frightening, this is an email scam intended to con you out of money.

This afternoon the FBI released this:

The FBI has received calls this afternoon from many of you seeking additional information on news reports of emailed bomb threats targeting victims from multiple sectors across the country.   Thank you for bringing this to our attention and continuing to engage with the FBI.  At this time, we want to share with you the FBI’s official statement:

“We are aware of the recent bomb threats made in cities around the country.  We remain in contact with our law enforcement partners to provide assistance. As always, we encourage the public to remain vigilant and to promptly report suspicious activities which could represent a threat to public safety.”
